Biofuel produced by fast pyrolysis from biomass is a promising candidate. The heart of the system is a reactor which is directly or indirectly heated to approximately 500°C by exhaust gases from a combustor that burns pyrolysis gas and some of the by-product char. In most of the cases, external biomass heater is used as heating source of the system while internal electrical heating is .
The control board ensured the desired process conditions could be reached by carefully inputting the appropriate conditions. To input the CS, a quartz sample holder with 20g of CS was placed in the middle of the reactor. Refer to Figure 1 for an illustration of the set-up of the pyrolysis bench-scale process.

Jun 30, 2019 · Pyrolysis is a thermal process that converts biosolids into biochar (a soil amendment), py‐oil and py‐gas, which can be energy sources. The objectives of this research were to determine the product yield of dried biosolids during pyrolysis and the energy requirements of pyrolysis.
Recent studies show that the direct combustion of the pyrolysis gases generated during the pyrolysis of sewage sludge with a moisture content of 4.6 wt% and LHV of 16.3 MJ/kg in an industrial scale auger reactor can provide the thermal energy required by the carbonization process (Liu et al., 2018).
3 hours ago · In addition, it gives 20% biochar and 20% syngas. A range of bio-oil production processes are under development, including fluid bed reactors, ablative pyrolysis, entrained flow reactors, rotating cone reactors, and vacuum pyrolysis. Oct 10, 2016 · Torrefaction is a thermochemical process in a narrow temperature ranging from 200 to 300°C, where primarily hemicellulose fibers are depolymerized. This process is carried out under atmospheric pressure and in anaerobic conditions; heating ratio is low (<50°C/min) and the residence time is relatively long, up to 1 h. During the process, a biomass is partially decomposed and forms .

In this regard, production of bio-oil and biochar from pyrolysis of animal waste or agricultural residue could be an interesting approach since application of biochar (as soil enhancer/conditioner) to the cropland has great potential [51, 52, 54, 56, 57]. Therefore, agricultural biomass has a good potential for the sustainable production of .
